Moana is the next animated movie coming from Disney, the 56th animated film created by the company. It’s a 3D computer-animated, musical, fantasy, and adventure film starring 14-year-old high school freshman voice actress Auli’i Cravalho as Moana Waialiki and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the demi-god Maui.
Fan-favorite actor Alan Tudyk (Firefly, A Knight’s Tale) will also be providing the voice of one of the film’s characters.
Disney is marketing Moana as the company’s first-ever Polynesian princess.
The Academy Award-nominated team of Iowa native Ron Clements (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Hercules) and John Musker (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Hercules) are serving as co-directors and script writers again on this feature.
